Ribeirão Pires,uma cidade da região metropolitana do estado de São Paulo.A cerca de 115.195 habitantes em uma área de 107 km²,o que da uma densidade demográfica de 1.055 habitantes por km².

O IDH dessa cidade é 0,807 deixando o na posição 130 do ranking municipal. São Jorge é seu padroeiro,dia 19 de março é seu aniversário.Antes de se torna municipio era parte de Santo André.

O PIB(produto interno bruto) em 2002 era de 678,92.No ano de 2003, a cidade tinha no total 1150 estabelecimentos comerciais e 14.332 trabalhadores formais.

Em 2000 a taxa de anafalbetismo era de 5,45% e as matriculas iniciais,em 2003,nas redes estaduais,municipais e particulares era em média de 6,918.
